Mission Waco Mission World is committed to uniting the community members over valuable educational opportunities to raise awareness and inspire restorative action. “The Other Side of Waco” Tour is an excellent entry point for Christians and other community members wanting to understand the realities of poverty in our city. You will be guided by any number of MWMW staff and will hear about and see many of our program sites and sections of North/East/Downtown Waco. We hope to raise awareness about poverty and how we can work together to address the various issues facing those in under-resourced communities.
Reserve your seat!
The tour is one-and-a-half hours long and begins at Mission Waco’s Jubilee Center (N. 15th & Colcord). There is no charge for the tour. We have a vehicle (13 passengers plus our driver/guide) that can be reserved with advance notice, or we can provide a tour guide to ride in your group’s vehicle. If you have a large group (more than 13), we suggest bringing your own bus due to the availability of our staff for tours. Please feel free to discuss this with us.
We prefer to schedule tours for a minimum group size of eight people. If you are an individual looking to join a group, let us know and we’ll reach out when there are open seats on another tour.
We are flexible in the days and times that the tours are scheduled. In the form below, please note your top four preferences for date and time.
Groups are invited to eat a meal at one of the neighborhood restaurants before or after the tour (including our very own World Cup Café) or to visit our Fair Trade Market. Your support of local businesses and restaurants adds to the economic development of these under-resourced neighborhoods.
