We strive to eliminate poverty in our own backyard and around the world through hands-on compassion and a holistic approach.
- Empower. Provide Christian-based, holistic, relationship-based programs that empower the poor and marginalized.
- Equip. Mobilize middle-class Americans to become more compassionately involved among the poor.
- Engage. Seek ways to overcome the systemic issues of social injustice which oppress the poor and marginalized.
We strive to see poverty eliminated in Waco and around the world.
What We Do
We offer many programs and services to meet our community’s immediate needs, providing everything from opportunities to break free from addictions, transitional housing for those in need, child care and community events such as the Christmas Toy Store. We also foster economic development, launching and supporting many different businesses in Waco including a Wacoan favorite, World Cup Cafe. We are only able to operate thanks to generous people who give of their time, skills and financial resources.
Who We Are
We’re committed to offering specialized services in Waco for all of Waco. Since our founding in 1991 through the work of Jimmy and Janet Dorrell and Christian Mission Concerns, our nonprofit organization has rallied many together to impact and change our beloved community for the better. We are unashamedly Christ-followers, and we welcome all people. We are advocates for the least of these, and we believe that everyone involved in this work is impacted. We are Wacoans and we are proud to come together and mobilize our community.
