Recovery, “Not for the needy, but the greedy.”
Addiction is powerful, affecting almost 21 million Americans today. The Manna House Residential Treatment Program was created to address this issue head-on, benefiting men seeking treatment, freedom and total recovery from drug and/or alcohol addiction. More than 700 men have come through the program since its inception, gaining access to Christian-based, inpatient treatment to address the root issues of each unique addiction.
Embracing the well-known motto, “Not for the needy, but the greedy,” Manna House participants who are unrelenting in their recovery efforts receive individualized treatment to meet their physical, emotional and spiritual needs from their initial screening to their discharge date. We often say, “Drugs and alcohol are not the problem, they are the medication.” We help men address the root causes of their addictions and then work through those complicated issues so they can get back on their feet and back into communities.
From 5 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. each day, the Manna House runs on a highly structured, disciplined schedule, lovingly and firmly challenging participants to meet all established benchmarks and goals—and it really works. Manna House participants boast several times the national average success rate in staying sober, with continued support provided through the Lighthouse following their discharge.
Benefiting 20-25 men each year, the program includes individual and group counseling, Bible studies, church attendance, community 12-step meetings and case management. Phase III participants are even afforded the opportunity to attend GED, computer, job search and retention skills classes through Mission Waco’s MPowerment Program.
