Volunteering
Ask any of our volunteers and they’ll attest—you volunteer with the intent to impact someone else, but oftentimes you end up being impacted even more. Don’t take our word for it, find out for yourself today by signing up to volunteer with us! In order to become a volunteer, there are three main steps to complete: completing an application, attending volunteer orientation, and submitting a background check.
Apply to be a volunteer by completing your profile in CERVIS (Mission Waco Mission World’s Community Event Registration Volunteer Information System). Once you have completed the volunteer orientation & background check, you’ll be able to sign up for volunteer opportunities.
Attend Volunteer Orientation: You will first need to sign up for a “New Volunteer Orientation.” At the orientation, you will learn about our mission, history, programs, and how to sign up for different volunteer opportunities.
Complete a Background Check: All volunteers 18 and older need to complete a background check. Once your volunteer application is finalized, you will receive an email prompting you to complete the background check online through Backgrounds Online. Please note, there will be a fee to cover the cost. If needed, you can complete a paper copy at our main office (1315 N. 15th St.) and pay with a check or cash when you drop it off.
If you have any questions, please contact Bailie Rouse, the Volunteer Director, at [email protected]. We look forward to serving with you!
