A major component of Mission Waco's Mission Statement is to EQUIP. We hope to mobilize neighbors to become more compassionately involved in their community. This semester, we will be hosting 4 workshops focused on issues related to poverty and Christian Community Development principles.
WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION
Come enjoy game night at Mission Waco! Disparity Trap is a board game that will help players have conversations "on the systems and institutions established to create inequity within the United States and how we as individuals have the ability to alter those systems for the better. The game's sole purpose is to encourage participants to work together in order to understand systemic inequity more clearly (
disparitytrap.net)". We will play, chat, and pray! Participants are sure to leave with deeper compassion and a vision for positive change in our city and in our world! The game will take about 60-90 minutes and then we will have a debrief after playing for about 30 minutes. To learn more about the game,
