We are called to care for the poor, feed the hungry and visit the sick, but we often overlook how environmental stewardship and neglect impacts low income communities as well, leading to disparities in health and well-being. During this workshop you will visit Urban REAP, a program of Mission Waco that exists to create a more sustainable future by providing our community with positive actions that help care for our creation as well as our neighbors. Urban REAP’s main initiatives include Aquaponics-grown produce, a food waste collection program for Composting, a Garden Center that provides options to our community, and Education and Community Programming that provides resources and information.
The workshop will be held at Urban REAP weather permitting. If it is raining, we will change locations to our main office. Please sign up ahead of time if you would like to attend so we can communicate accordingly!
