Surviving the Streets Workshop

EQUIP & ENGAGE

Two major components of Mission Waco's Mission Statement are to EQUIP & to ENGAGE. Through engagement, we hope to mobilize the middle class Americans to become more compassionately involved among the poor and to better understand systemic issues within our own community and abroad. This semester, we will be hosting 2 workshops focused on Christian community development principles in order to offer educational opportunities for the community to learn about systemic issues in our own backyard.

SURVIVING THE STREETS GAME & WORKSHOP

Come play a game at Mission Waco focused on better understanding the barriers of homelessness! Mission Waco’s "Surviving Our Streets" board game will help players think through the realities of homelessness in Waco and develop a greater understanding of the systemic issues that limit economic mobility. We will play, chat, and pray! Participants are sure to leave with deeper compassion and a vision for positive change in our city and in our world! The game will take about 1 hour and then we will have a debrief after playing for about 30 minutes. Please note if you attended last spring, this is the same workshop!

Light refreshments will be served. For questions, please reach out to Bailie Rouse at [email protected].
