Women’s Solutions Save Lives
Globally, over two billion people drink from a water source contaminated with feces. In America, we enjoy the luxury of water that is almost always clean and safe for drinking, cooking or daily use. At Mission Waco Mission World, we believe clean water should be accessible to all, regardless of where they fall around the poverty line.
Clean water provides more work for developing communities and fewer missed school days due to illness. To combat the drinking water shortage in these communities, the women are now drilling wells to provide clean water for those in need. So far, we’ve drilled 455 wells and distributed 500 bucket filters to homes with children ages five and below.
Give the Gift of Water
If you have a heart for giving, there are various ways to help provide clean water to a community in need — in every price range.
$10 – Contribute a water test for villagers to monitor the safety of their water supply.
$25 – Sponsor health and hygiene training for an individual in need.
$50 – Provide a family in need with a water filter of their own.
$100 – Purchase a share of a water well.
$300 – Provide a whole village with a water filter.
$4,000 – Fully sponsor a water well.
