Enjoy celebrating God’s gracious love for you, your loved ones, and all your neighbors by joining us at the 20th anniversary of World Cup Cafe’s Valentine's Dinner Fundraiser! Tickets will be sold for $100 per person ($200 for couples), with your choice of three dinner options. Each option will come with bread, salad, drink, and of course, a delicious red velvet cake for dessert! The World Cup Cafe is part of Mission Waco's goal to love our neighbors the way God intended by supporting poverty relief in our local community. From their blueberry pancakes to their bear burger, this local business serves great food while making an impact that goes beyond just the kitchen. World Cup Café is a social enterprise of Mission Waco whose mission is to empower neighbors experiencing poverty through Christian-based, holistic, relationship-centered programs. As a social enterprise, the World Cup creates job opportunities for many people who face challenges while finding work, such as those with disabilities, veterans, those from underserved communities, and those in recovery from addiction. The community between Mission Waco employees and World Cup Cafe employees helps address inequalities in the workforce by providing people with valuable work experience.

After dinner, take your Valentine to pick out the perfect gift at the Fair Trade Market that is adjoining The World Cup Cafe. Mission Waco’s Fair Trade Market ensures its artisans are paid a livable wage for their uniquely crafted goods and that each item in the store is made ethically every step of the way. All profits of the Fair Trade Market go right back into Mission Waco and help us to continue supporting those in our community experiencing poverty. Help us spread as much love to those around us this Valentine's Day by enjoying great food and supporting a wonderful cause!

Valentine’s Day invites us to reflect on love, not just the love we give or receive from others, but the love that began it all. Scripture reminds us in 1 John 4:19, “We love because God first loved us.” Before chocolates, cards, or flowers, there was God’s sacrificial and unending love poured out for us. This truth reminds us that love is more than a feeling or a gift; it is an action! God’s love teaches us to pause and truly see one another, to listen to stories that need to be heard, to feed the hungry, visit the sick, and extend dignity and opportunity to those in need. This Valentine’s Day, may we ask God to shape our hearts to love as He loves. What would it look like to celebrate from a posture of giving to allow God’s limitless love to flow through us and into the lives of others?

Love,

Your Neighbors on the Mission Waco Mobilization Team
