Every Parent Deserves to Shop with Dignity
The holiday season can be a stressful time for many low-income families. Shopping for presents seems to be an insurmountable task, even for those who can afford it. To alleviate this pressure and simplify the gift search, Mission Waco has stepped up to partner with parents in providing Christmas presents to their children at an affordable cost.
Operating the first weekend of December, our volunteer-run Christmas Toy Store gives parents the opportunity to purchase brand new toys and gifts at an 80% discount off the retail price. Each year, the Toy Store serves over 500 parents in Waco, which amounts to over 2,000 children! Parents select high quality, affordable gifts for their children, which are expertly wrapped by our jolly volunteers.
Toy Drive Donations
You are invited to donate new toys and gifts to our annual Christmas Toy Store. This is a project which sells all the items at an 80% discount – an affordable price for low-income families. We need toys!! Individuals and churches are asked to help us this year, with donations of new toys and gift items for children, ages infant through 10 years old.
If you may prefer in-store shopping, just call us when you are ready to deliver your donations, so we can coordinate a convenient time of receiving. We do prefer your donations no later than 5pm Monday Nov 28 th . Office number is 254-753-4900, ask for Joyce Brammer.
If you prefer shopping online --we have created an
Amazon Smile Wish List. This allows convenient shopping, delivery directly to Mission Waco office. PLUS, a percentage of your purchases will be donated (by Amazon) to Mission Waco as the charity of choice. This is a “win-win” decision!
If shopping is just not your niche, but you do wish to financially support our store, please donate on our
website. In the comment section indicate "Toy
Store." We have already purchased several thousand dollars' worth of toys, as we must have a huge inventory to offer selections to 500 parents who will shop with us over the three days of store operations.
Churches which plan to deliver donations directly to our toy store are asked to do so on Sunday afternoon, Nov 27th, between 2-5pm. Toy Store location is the Central Presbyterian Activity Center, 101 Sharron Drive in Woodway.
